Faith-Based Counseling
Our Trauma and PTSD Counseling services provide a safe and supportive environment for individuals to process and heal from traumatic experiences. By integrating evidence-based therapeutic techniques, such as Accelerated Resolution Therapy, with faith-based principles, we help clients find peace and resilience on their journey to recovery.
Our Grief and Loss Counseling services offer compassionate support for those navigating the pain of loss. Losses can take many forms - from pet loss to the death of a spouse, family member or friend, to divorce or job loss. Through a combination of therapeutic approaches, we help clients find a way to integrate their losses and see hope in the grief journey.
Our Depression and Anxiety Treatment services are designed to help individuals manage and overcome these challenges through personalized, evidence-based therapies, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) and Narrative Therapy.
Our Faith-Based Counseling approach focuses on integrating one's faith into the therapeutic process, addressing spiritual concerns alongside emotional and psychological needs. We help clients deepen their spiritual connections and find strength and guidance through their faith.
Our Counselor
Dr. Michelle Caulk, LPC (MO), LMHC (IN), NCC, ACS
In my practice as a Licensed Professional Counselor (MO), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (IN), and Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC), I combine traditional psychotherapy approaches with practical, problem-solving tools. I believe in addressing the "whole picture" with my clients - spiritual, emotional, cognitive and physical. Through our sessions, clients rediscover HOPE in the midst of their grief, traumatic experiences, anxiety, depression, relationship troubles, and life transitions, HEALING from past hurts and trauma, and GRACE within the therapeutic relationship.
Additionally, I am a Master Clinician for Accelerated Resolution Therapy, a highly effective, proven approach to rapid recovery from symptoms associated with trauma, depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder and other concerns. As a former librarian and current author, I also love incorporating bibliotherapy into sessions (bibliotherapy = reading a book that deals with your concern, and we talk about it!).
I believe that our stories can change. You have strengths and abilities that can help that change, and if those are lost or forgotten, we can identify them. We can take steps towards writing new chapters as we work towards healing the old ones. It’s not easy to reach out for counseling! However, I hope that you will give it a try and see what we might discover together.
FAQ’s
How long does counseling take?
The short answer: it depends.
The longer answer: it depends, and that is based on everyone having different goals and concerns. We get to collaborate on what you’d like to get out of therapy, and then collaboratively determine what the timeline may be for you.
As with any effort, progress also depends on you - this is an investment in you and your life, and we encourage you to commit to the process, and provide feedback along the way to our counselors.
What’s the first session like?
The first session, in fancy clinical language, is the “intake.” This is where we start getting to know you, your goals, and why you came to counseling.
It’s also a fantastic time to ask your counselor questions about the approach, experience with your concern, and favorite color (just kidding on the last part. Unless you want to.)
We suggest that you commit to at least 2-3 sessions with your counselor. That gives everyone a chance to develop the most effective thing in therapy - the relationship.
How much does it cost? Do you take insurance?
For Dr. Michelle Caulk, sessions are $160 per 50-55 minute session.
At this time we do not take insurance, but can provide a receipt to you for insurance reimbursement.

Healing Out Loud: How to Embrace God’s Love When You Don’t Like Yourself offers a unique perspective on a year-long counseling journey, written by Sandi Brown, founder of JOY FM, and her counselor, Dr. Michelle Caulk.
The book explores the challenge of reconciling self-love with God’s love, addressing common struggles with shame and negativity.
Through conversational prose, it provides a Healing Map, personal journal entries, and guided reflections to help readers confront vulnerabilities and embrace healing with biblical insight.
